AR Program Bootcamp Day One

The recap coming later, but I just couldn't help doing a quick post, I left this evening floating on endorphins! What a GREAT, strong, and motivated group of women. It was truly a magical hour and I get the sense that many close bonds and arms of support will be developed over the next 5 weeks.
Way to rock it ladies! My full recap to come tomorrow!

While still high on day one, I would love to hear your thoughts, feedback and goals after having completed the first day!

  1. I can’t say enough great things about The AR Program 5-week West Village Summer Bootycamp with Amanda Russell! As a corporate woman in NYC, sometimes fitness and health takes a second seat to my career and social life. Signing up for bootycamp is my commitment to putting me first!

    Pre-Class Homework:

Before day-1 of camp, students are asked to brainstorm and journal their goals both mental & emotional.

    My goals:
     Lose Weight
     Be Healthy
     Be Tone
 Feel confident in a tiny polka dot bikini!

    Day #1:

When running from the office to camp, I remind myself that without good health, there is no successful career or social life!

We meet in the West Village- Pier 46 @ Charles Street. The weather is gorgeous and the girls at camp are warm and inviting.

Looking at Amanda Russell in her short shorts was motivation in itself! Suddenly, the thought of my career didn’t matter—My focus was on manifesting a long lean and in shape booty!

Celebrity fitness model, Amanda Russell knows how to push you to the limit and I know the results will be rewarding. In the past, I’ve challenged myself by running marathons or training for short triathlons to get into shape. But after an hour and half of high intensity cardio, plyometrics and calisthenics—I know the results will be transformational!

This workout is not for the faint at heart! The minute I want to quit, I think about my goals—that polka dot bikini!

We end day-1 with a team competition. I am overwhelmed with fond memories of my days on team sports in High School. Today, our team lost but we get an A+ for effort and cheerleading!

I walk away with the girls feeling inspired. I plan to workout 4-5X before the next AR bootycamp session. I am excited to see the results!

    Before and after pictures coming!

  2. Katie! I loved your posting, I think it resonates with all of us. Being professional women in NYC, we tend to race the corporate ladder, and socialize in all the right places, yet we slowly find our waistlines expanding with too many luxurious dinners and not enough time sweating it out for ourselves.
I wanted to start this program as not only a fitness program but a starting point for us as women to empower ourselves, and put our health first AND have fun and develop lasting relationships doing it.
I am giving you the program, and with all the loving support we can all achieve Greater self-confidence and the tiny polka dot bikini body :)

I am here to help! I want to hear everyone's goals! What do you plan to do before our next session?

  3. I've never seen people having SO much fun working out! This is such a great program I've always tried to squeeze in time working out but never really stuck to it for too long, but even after one day going to this bootcamp I know that this will be the key to sticking to my goal of getting myself in shape, not only for the summer but for the rest of the year and on. Being surrounded by a group of women who are motivated will help me stay motivated myself, when working out on my own once I get tired or feel like its been enough I would quit but with this you're given the push you need to keep going. Amanda really knows how to keep everyone working to their best potential. I cant wait until I start seeing results from the class and the work outs that Amanda encouraged us to do on our own. One part of the class I really enjoyed was the team challange, everyone cheering each other on seemed to give the boost that was needed. Already counting down to the next class!

  4. Monique, I loved that you pointed out the support of all the women, it's often the support and warmth and the synergy of a group of people all with a common mission that propels you to achieve something greater than you thought possible!

Looking forward to chiseling down and building up!

  5. I had a blast last week at Amanda's bootcamp!!! And what a workout! I thought I was in fairly good shape since I had been a regular at the gym, but uh I got a little reality check last week. I have to admit I'm fairly strong, but conditioned um no! Cardiowise I need help! The bootcamp made me realized that even though I'm putting the hours in at the gym I'm not putting the quality in. I do the same boring treadmill routine every well every other day. Amanda's interval training really got my heart pounding! I also realized that I needed to get outside! I found myself a little dehydrated even though it wasn't that hot of a day and that is also probably because of my boring indoor treadmill routine. So my new goal is to get outside!!! I want to run twice a week and bike once a week outside. Have some fun and on my runs mix some sprints in. I know this will kick up the caloric burn.

Oh and I agree with Monique the group of women were great! The best part was the two teams racing at the end. i probably would have slacked off then, but didn't because my team was counting on me. Thanks Amanda and thanks ladies!!!

  6. Elizabeth! Your post cracked me up, I think we all fall into the same boring ruts at the gym, it's amazing that you can go to the gym everyday, log tons of hours and not see results! The problem is not getting the quality as you mentioned!
I'm so glad you had fun, looking forward to another fun night! Rain or shine!!

  7. Its sad how long it took me to figure out how to post here! Thanks Erin for saying "don't you just add a comment?" duh! I had so much fun at bootcamp last week-- I particularly love the challenge without having a man yelling "no excuse!" (ahem, bootcamp next door!) I echo what Elizabeth said about cardio- I hate running and jumping so I never do it, but I'm so glad I got pushed! I also love that I can do this interval training in my living room for 20 minutes when I don't have time to run to the gym! My goal is to do real push ups (I admit I'm addicted to the girl ones) and gain more endurance!! ... and it looks like that might happen in the rain today. booo...
